Festool jigsaw blades can be grouped into 3 categories:

HCS (High Carbon Steel) tool steel: the standard quality for all wood materials. Used for cutting hardwoods/softwoods, melamine/veneered plywood, chipboard, hard and soft plastics and acrylics.

HS Bimetal: offers long service life and high cutting capacity. Used for cutting hardwoods/softwoods, melamine/veneered plywood, chipboard, hard and soft plastics, composite materials, acrylics iron and steel.

Carbide Tipped HM: Resistant to high temperature and offers longer cutting life.Used for cutting fiber-reinforced plastics, cement board, chip board, glass, tile, iron and steel.
